Between the ages of 1 and 2 years old, our youngest child Easton was experiencing significant speech, respiratory and hearing issues due to chronic tonsil inflammation and ear infections. Dr. DeSautel and the ENT clinic came highly recommended to us through several referrals from the parents of former patients to other physicians and even operating room nurses we inquired with. Initially, Dr. DeSautel took an age-appropriate course of treatment recommending steroids and antibiotics as opposed to surgery as he explained that the surgical risks were too high. Eventually the steroid treatment proved only temporary and marginal and despite Easton’s young age, Dr. DeSautel recommended surgical removal of the tonsils, adenoids, and insertion of tubes. While we were confident in the multiple referrals from others and the care we received in the ENT clinic, as parents we were naturally concerned and apprehensive about subjecting our otherwise healthy son to this surgical procedure, even though it is minimally invasive. Dr. DeSautel provided us the comfort and reassurances we needed to proceed and the surgery was scheduled for August of 2006 when Easton had just turned 3 years old. As we hoped, the surgery went very well and Easton’s quality of life improved almost overnight. ~Joe and Kristen Zueger Meet Our Team of Physicians William H.
