USATF – Certified Half MarathonOver 1,000 runners ran the 13.1-mile course for the Sioux Falls Half-Marathon on September 7th. Runners enjoyed the flat, fast course designed to showcase many of the natural and manmade landmarks. The race began at Howard Wood Field. At approximately the 4-mile mark, the runners entered the beautifully restored Falls Park, and the city’s namesake, the magnificent three tiered falls of the Big Sioux River. At Falls Park, runners connected with the city’s paved bike trail tracing the shaded banks of the Big Sioux River. The trail bends around the city and took the runners to the finish at Sertoma Park. Two-Person Half Marathon Relay TeamThis was the first year a two-person half marathon relay team was offered as an option. 35 teams were created and competed in this event! Miracle 5KNearly 470 participants enjoyed a 3.1 mile trek on September 7th. The race began and finished in the picturesque Sertoma Park. It was a beautiful morning to run or walk for the kids! Kids Miracle MileWe had over 70 participants enjoy the picturesque journey through the outdoor campus with their family and friends. This event is all for the children, but it is a wonderful One-Mile Journey for the whole family.
