United Way Success By Six

The Success by Six Hospital-Based Intervention Program, Watch Me Grow Help Me Grow™ – Baby’s First Year, is offered to parents who deliver a baby at Sanford USD Medical Center. These services are available thanks to a partnership between the Sioux Empire United Way and Sanford Children’s CHILD Services.

New Baby in the Home

Even after leaving the hospital, Sanford Health supports parents in their new role of parenting.

New Baby in the Home service offers new parents a time to talk about parenting and their child. Parents choose the topic, the time and how to receive the information. Options:
     • Telephone visit
     • Office visit
     • Home visit
     • Session via the internet

Getting to Know Your Baby Better
Why do some babies sleep at the same time everyday while others have a random nap schedule? Why do some wiggle and squirm during a diaper change and others lay quietly as they smile and coo?

Sanford Children’s offers a program to help find the answers to these questions.This service helps parents gain insight to why babies reacts to people, places and situations in certain ways. This service involves a short questionnaire with an option to receive further information from one of our Family Life Specialists.

Parent Resource Portfolios

Sanford USD Medical Center post partum families receive a Parent Resource Portfolio filled with resource information to help connect new parents to resources available in the Sioux Empire community.

Through efforts of this program, the objectives are to:

    1. Increase parent ability to locate community service or parenting information.
    2. Increase program promotion to increase referrals and usage of the programs.
    3. Increase young families awareness that United Way supports them during a critical and often difficult time in their lives.
